The Learn Forward team recently had the opportunity to talk with Damon Brown, who serves as Director for the Office of Student Activities and Involvement at Central Michigan University. Listen as Damon shares with us his accidental career path to student affairs, the role professional mentors have played in his career, and his advice for how we can "pay it forward" in the student affairs profession.
Damon Brown has been in the Higher Education profession for 18 years. He began his career in Campus Recreation at Central Michigan University, where he served as the Intramural Sports Coordinator. After 8 years, Damon transitioned to Student Life as the Coordinator of Student Activities. He served in that position for 4 years at which time he became the Director of the Office of Student Activities and Involvement. Damon is beginning his fourth year as the the Director. Damon graduated from Ohio University with a degree in Business Management & Sports Sciences. He then proceeded to Central Michigan University where he received his Master’s in Sports Administration.
